Devblog #3: Failed to launch

Hello friends!

"Failure is success in progress." ―Albert Einstein

It’s with a heavy heart that I inform you that we have failed on our promise to launch a fully redesigned, beautiful app on Earth Day.

We have been hard at work trying to make this happen, but we simply weren’t able to get there on time. The version that’s out right now has several critical issues, and is a far cry from what we wanted to deliver today. One of these issues is that some users aren’t able to log in without being sent to a white screen, making an app restart necessary for it to work. Among the other things that we weren’t able to get in in time was the impact tracking and your profile. There are also several issues with the implementation of the design. We're still working on all of this and more.

I take full responsibility for what has happened, and I’m doing my utmost to remedy the situation.

Here’s a list of some of the things that will be fixed and added to the public version in the coming days:

  • Splash screen will be added

  • Project card view will be fixed to reflect the design specifications

  • Project view will be fixed to reflect the design specifications

  • Profile page with personal impact tracking will be implemented

  • weMORI page with total project impact tracking will be implemented

  • Explainers for the statistics will be improved

In the meantime, if you want to look at the design which we’re implementing, find it here.

Also, here are some screenshots of how it’s supposed to look.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support and patience.

We can't wait to introduce you to our wonderful forest protection and restoration projects.

All the best,

Alexander J. Siggers
